    I had enough!!!

I think I would be custom making  one soon and a low price one.

Here is some ideas I got:

    a) Make the shelf/Cabinet/Whatever, the paste some custom backgrounds of LEGO scenes, be it SW,CITy..etc.
    b) Please add to list, will find person to do it....

OK.. this is not a display case, but it is sure a nice storage solution:

    Pricing rather high. Either we:

    a) get someone local to make something similar
    b) buy in bulk

Tuan, I think we can discuss this during our gathering. I have an idea in my head, but very hard to put it out in words. You rushing to get this out?

not bad... if you don't mind lumping everything into the same box.... but for display and for seperate parts differnt way oso ....

Imagine a 2(left right)  x 3 (top down) or 4 (left right) x 6 (top down) cube shelves, with sliding mirrors or magnetic glass for each cube . Replicate it.

Then if you want to split box into 2 or 3 to display smaller stuff, you cna place the metal studs and board.

I am thinking of a display case where we can pasang compartments on it like LEGO. Not necessarily in a rectangular shape.

yeah, agreed, then its easy to split it into as many sections as possible

     __  __ __ __  __ __ __  __ __
    |    |    |    |               |               |
    |    |    |    |               |               |
    |    |    |    |               |               |
    |__|__|__|__ __ __ |__ __ __ |   all wood planks are of the same size, and can be connected from top down left right via pins, screws etc
    |              |             / |               |   (need to think how it can sustain the weight of lego if it allows such flexibility.
    |__ __ __|        /      |               |
    |              |    /          |               |    holes along the edges and metal pins that allow you to increase the number of sections.
    |__ __ __|/__ __ __|__ __ __ |

But if not rectangular or square, how else do you intend to display them?

I once thought of Buying transparent lego blocks to make pillars and then large grey/tan flat pieces as the floors. too costly. Use a piece of large flat piece of wood, hit 2 nails on each side, whala... you get a section.

What do you have in your mind? You know how those toy shops display their stuff? like the CUBE like of concept, those are customized furniture aren't they?

Here's my 2 cents when I was shopping for a display cabinet  Wink

My first criteria is that it has to have a glass door so that my sets can be displayed fully assembled. This also means it must have sufficient width and height to accommodate the largest set you want to display.

Maybe you can measure how long and how high the crane truck is? No point getting a shelf which is too narrow and your crane truck cannot enter. My case it was by sheer luck it can barely masuk! Shocked A few more milimeters narrower and my crane truck tak boleh masuk.

If you want to have a city display you may want a very wide and deep shelf to accommodate several road plates/base plates and buildings, with the roads populated by city vehicles. Then you can paste a city scene in the background!
