Here’s the review on my first Power Miners set. Simply attracted to the new rock monster minifig which turn out to be different from any other minifig.

    Details:

    Price: RM33.90
    Pieces: 31 (around RM1.09/piece)
    Minifigs: 2
    Year released: 2009

    Box art:
    Front:
    Here's the lime green box.

    Side:
The name of the rock monster are provided.

    Back:
We can see there's alternative model again, a little like Exo-Force, two sets combine to become one.

    Content:
There are 3 packet of bricks, two of them contains bricks and one of them contains Meltrox. Other than that, there are two loose technic piece, sticker sheet, and instruction booklet.

    Here's the separately pack Meltrox.

    Instruction booklet:
As always, there will be a bricks checklist, other than just building steps. We also got the information about which monster we are getting in the different sets, a small poster and the combination or alternative build for 2 sets at once.

    Decals:
Well, here’s the sticker to add some detail to the stone chopper.

    Crystal:
LEGO switch the piece to translucent red piece which turn out good.

    Minifigs:
We got two minifigs here. 1 miner and 1 rock monster, Meltrox the red one. The miner minifig have both side of torso printed as well as the leg too.

The miners got two expressions. But who want to keep change the expression? It will make the head loose pretty fast.

    Meltrox:
Well Meltrox have a big mouth, also big appetite.

You must be wondering whether the inside can be attach with brick. The inside is top surface is smooth and therefore you can't attach bricks unlike the the base plate.

The hand is nice mold so that it can support the crystal, other words, the crystal can be attach to the hand easily.

    Stone Chopper:
So here’s some high-tech bike which have grinder in front of it.
    Random shot:

    Front shot:

    Side shot:

    Rear Shot:

    Extra parts:
Now here’s the extra part,  two pieces, not much.

    Completion:

For those who plan to get only one rock monster to add in their collection can consider about this set as the price is cheap.

    Functions:
    -moving wheel and grinder

    Pros:
    -new minifig
    -printed leg for miners minifig

    Cons:
    -sticker sheet
    -few extra parts
    -few accessories for minifig

    Final verdict:
Playability: 5/10 . Not much to play with, just moving wheel.
Design : 7/10 not really like the design of the vehicle, maybe because of the front wheel.
Price : 8/10 The price are acceptable.
Overall: 7/10 Nothing much to say about it, just a simple small set with sticker.
