admin, i got a question....can this set equipped with power function?
i just bought this set but not arrive yet.can someone tell me please?

Any set can be equipped with power functions, the only question is how much power function stuff you may want to install into the set as well as how much skill it may require to install the power functions.

Taking the Tow truck for example, there is alot of stuff you can add power functions too:-
    1) The tow winch
    2) Steering
    3) The drivetrain to move the rear tires
    4) Lights
    5) To extend the tow boom
    6) Add in a compressor for the pneumatic

However this set does not come with official instructions from TLG on how to motorized the set. Thus it might need a certain degree of skill, improvisation and ALOT of time and effort to get all the motors, IR receivers and battery pack into the model and make it work.

I agree with the paanjang analysis. got alot of power function parts can be install inside this set.
it's depand of your skill. but must refer and think what are needed.
but if wanna make it  become fully remote control must needs the IR receiver and also the IR remote control.

Ask you technic kaki, do you need to put water into the hydraulic pumps?
In lego technic, there are two types of linear actuators (LA). (sometimes called cylinders)
    a) Pneumatic (air operated)
    - actuated by means of hand-pressed air pump or;
    - actuated by motorized cranked air pump.
    - optional compressed air storage so called the 'reservoir'
    - air is directed thru flexible rubber hoses.
    - flow of air is single direction - no return line required.

    b) Mechanical (internal screw operated)
    - converts rotary input into linear output.
    - complex gearing and shafts are required to direct rotary motion from power source (eg. motor) to the LA.

    c) No hydraulic system in Lego so far. (Hydraulic system utilises incompressible liquid as transmission medium)
