Set # 8110
Number of Pieces: 2051
Theme: Technic
Year release: 2011

Considered myself lucky where I managed to get this set even before it's official release date. The box is huge. The part count is huge. The tyres are huge. The finish set is huge. Almost all thing is huge for this one.

Box content

Lego did a good job. They have divide the parts into mainly 4 sections. Easier to build rather than all 2ooo++ pieces have to sort out manually.
1. Chasis (6 or 7 packets)
2. Cabin (5 packets)
3. Cargo (1 packet)
4. Front and rear attachments (4 packets)
there's also a few other parts like compressor, air tubes, battery box etc.

5 building instructions. A pretty long read I must say Smiley

The build

Maybe it's just me (not sure for anyone else), but chasis building is really really really long. It took me around 6 hours. A big bunch of gears here and there. And I'm saying this again, it is HUGE.

Here's the completed parts.

Chasis
Fully working front and back suspension, front and back differential gearing, 4-wheel drive, 4-in-line engine

Cabin
HOG steering, MB emblem, new orange panels, right hand drive [wink wink]

Cargo bed

Front and back attachment
small puller crane, hand claw crane with 360 degree turntable, pneumatic switches

All in all, a really challenging building set. Really recommend to any AFOL out there. Also tons of playability that will keep you playing for hours.

Build: 4.5/5 A lot of parts that will keep you busy for hours
Design: 5/5 Unimog truck with two modular attachments..and has pneumatic functions
Value/Price: 4.5/5 A bit on the high side
Playability: 5/5 Fun..fun..fun

thanks

I was wondering, any problems with the pneumatic system? Does it work well?
