    Theme : Technic
    Set name : Motorized Excavator
    Year : 2010
    Pieces : 1123
    Price : RM 849.90

This is my 1st review on a Technic set and my very 1st Technic set to own that set me mind blowing and fell in love with technics especially with the PF installed. The complicated gear box is sophisticated and fully functioned to operate the whole machine. I spent hours building it and hours more to play with the PF till the 1st batch of new batteries depletes.  Cry. Well no wonder all the Technic Gurus here cant wait to lay their hands on this piece. Now i know why.

    Flip open front box art

    Sorted pieces!

    Few hours later

    Side view

2 cylinders to lift the main boom (The M motor seems to be under power for this task) and 2 more to operate the last boom and bucket.

    Some pics during dismantling

The complex gear box that changes controls from drive mode to boom operating mode

The M motors are neatly tucked at the rear part of the body

Covering the motorsis the battery box acts as an engine cover.

    Playability 10/10
Design 9/10 there is some flaws with a gear mountings (can be fixed replacing it with an axle and a bush)
Price : Don't hesitate, just get it!  Tongue
Overall 9/10 I can say is that i still have many hours of playtime and truly will be my most enjoyable!

Fantastic pcitures Yaki. You really sort out all the pieces and arrange them nicely before you start building!

Yaki, I noticed you have not place the stickers on the set yet. Planning to do an MOC?

Also so fast you dismantle the excavator already?  Shocked

Yeah the parts will be a part of my MOC, sorting out the pcs makes it easier to look for the parts bcos the bags are unnumbered. Dismantling for the B model.  Tongue

Yeah technic is a lot of fun to pasang especially with PF installed and a lot to learn from technic Gurus here. My frens were amazed of the excavator and bulldozer (model B) controlled with IR controller on the movement and functionality of the machines.

Just got a chance to finish assembling my 8043 Motorized Excavator.
Everything is excellent except the main boom is UNDERpower. The motion is so d**n slow!!
Pity the PF M Motor. Doesn't sounds good.
No wonder the design doesn't comes with 24 toothed friction clutch gear. Otherwise, this thing wouldn't move!
Anyway, this is still a great set to source for their parts especially PF items.

Anyone facing the same situation as I do?  Lips Sealed

Cheng Fei already built his excavator!  Shocked Another one without stickers. Gosh, I think I will be the only one with stickers when I finally go about building mine.
