This model took me 2 nights to build after my kids went to bed. 1.5 hours each. It's fun to watch how the container bucket lifts up and drops down. Not many gear in this set. The only gear involved are the steering and the M motor to power up the Linear Actuator.

Here is the box art (Please ignore the Lego City truck. I forgot to take the shot just for the Technic set... Tongue)

And the B-model, I have not try to build yet...

These are all the parts, stickers and the manual split into two. I finished up the first book during the first night. For the B-model, you will need to download from the Lego website.

When completed, only a few small pieces left:

These are the tipping modes. No gear involve to achieve different modes:

The way to achieve this is by disallowing the second part of the lifter to bend. Not sure if you can understand what I meant but here are two shots of it. The first is just to lift up the container bucket to pour out the stuff in it:

Noticed the red piece change position so that it is allowed to bend to achieve the unloading of the bucket container:

The LA works well. It can handle pretty heavy load. To prove this, the Lego City folks went on top of it. Just one camper is not enough, so they threw in another tractor:

The size of this model is pretty huge. Here is the comparison with other models:

The mechanism of loading and unloading is fun to watch. I don't like the battery box control because the switch can be overshot (most of the time). Preferably if there is an additional switch. Steering mechanism is just as usual. The small steering in the cabin is a fake steering and it does not turn with the wheel. The only control is on top of the truck.

    Nice Review!!

The container truck is larger than I thought, hence it is quite expensive. To really test the LA I would load up the container with coins  Tongue

I'm thinking to MOD this guy to have fully remote control using the parts from the excavator. That's going to take a while before I can build the excavator...
