Also posted this on Lego.com :

    Great Experience.... *almost* there

    Pros :
Size - It's large... really large. With the wings lowered, it would impress any visitor seeing it for the first time.
Details - I enjoyed putting in the laser cannons on the wings, the rear turret, the wings that could be lowered (one at a time) by gear

    Cons :
Scale - While this unit could sit 4 minifigs in the cockpit, it still isn't an accurate scale model of the actual Lambda Class Shuttle.
Accuracy - The ideal set would have walkways (that a lego minifig could stand straight in) connecting the cockpit to the cargo hold, a cargo hold that housed troops/cargo, a central ramp that could be lowered
Instructions - I had a problem with the color representation of Light Grey, Dark Grey and Black in the instruction book. Dark Grey looked light black and vice versa. Eventually I had to guess. Thankfully I guesed right.
Missing Pieces - I was missing 2 pieces of 1x3 Plates (white) missing so I had to scrounge them from previous old sets that I had. I confirm that i didn't mis-construct them elsewhere, otherwise I would have a different colored 1x3 in excess. UPDATE : I had 2 1x4 plates (white) in excess, so I think someone at Lego packed it wrong.
Fragility - It's pretty fragile at points, so you would have to hold it well if you have any intention of playing with it at all.

    Summary :
It's a great set. I enjoyed building it and seeing it come together segment by segment. As a build-to-display unit, it's really fine. My biggest beef would be the scale and accuracy of the model. Again, having it to really really accurate minifig scale would be perfect, plus adding an actual cargo hold with a ramp (that the Emperor could walk down from) .

Haha... sorry... not used to doing reviews, especially not the kind that you guys are used to reading.

The set has already been built, here's a few photos from the completed set :

#1 - "Your training is complete. Indeed you are powerful, as the emperor has foreseen."

#2 - Scale Minifigs vs Actual Shuttle. There is no central ramp to be lowered.... unfortunately, and because of the not-quite to scale build, there isn't enough headspace below the shuttle anyway.

#3 - Spread your wings like a butterfly! Imperial Shuttle complete with Stand

    #4 - Laser Cannon details

#5 - Rear view. Turn the cranks one at a time and the wings are lowered/raised

No need to take a step back.... can describe here.  Tongue

My UCS Star Destroyer is in a glass casing with a velvet base... it's alone in the case.

As you can see, the Imperial Shutter in flight mode is much taller than the Star Destroyer. I initially thought of putting them both in the same case, but the shuttle with wings closed, but it won't be that impressive.

I have made another separate glass case for the Shuttle alone to house it in flight mode.

I don't have much of a collection really. The only other UCS Lego I have is my Millennium Falcon that is still in the box, and some loose Lego sets I used to play with when I was young, that's all spread out in a box now.  Smiley

    @Lion-kun  - THanks... it's just 2 1x3 pieces so I prolly won't go through that trouble.
@Suplaplap - My new casing for the shuttle just arrived will take some shots and post it later when I'm free.
