This set took me quite a long time to review it.  Tongue And is been awhile I posted a review.  Azn

    Details:
    Price: RM750
    Pieces: 1170 (around 65sen/piece)
    Minifigs: 5
    Year released: 2009

    Box art:
There are two kind of box, the one needed you to tear the side to open it and the one open by the side. The actual scale of minifigs are shown at the top of the box. At the back of the box shows the functions of the set is shown together with other set picture.
    Front view:

    Content:
15 pack of bricks, two instruction book and a sticker sheet were included. Since they are so many of them, iI break it into two pictures.

    Instruction books:
Book one is totally full on building steps while book two include us with brick checklist, some pictures of the functions and other sets picture.

    Decal:
Quite a number of detail is added by using sticker.

    Weapons & Accessory:
Two E-5 blaster rifle is included and an Death Star hologram which is printed on a translucent red head stud. Both front and back are printed differently.

    Here's Palpatine's cape:

    Minifigs:
There is five minifigs included in this set and they are the new Chancellor Palpatine, Senate Commandos, rare Clone Pilot and a very common Clone gunner. The Senate Commando and the Clones have the same face under the helmet although they are not clones.

Here are the nice helmets in line:

    Senate Commando:
Here's some shot of the new minifig, which soon will be uncommon.

    Escape Pod:
Here's the pictures of the small escape pod from different angle:

Here's the last picture of the escape pod where it is opened. Too bad the round plate are not printed or else it would have looks better.

    Cockpit:
Since this thing can be taken out easily, I made a review of it first before go to the Venator itself. The cockpit is small and the height just fit the size a sitting Clone Pilot.

Here's a shot of the monitor where the Clone Pilot will be looking at it while piloting the small Venator. Is a sticker added detail.

Here's a final picture with a Clone Pilot sitting inside and as you can see from the picture, you can move the roof to make the process of attaching Clone Pilot easier.

    Venator:
Here's the important part of all. I do like the outlook of the Venator, it is nicely design and the stud makes is some how looks more detail.

What do you guys think of the outlook? I think it looks great. Is not a rejected set.

Now the front part interior under the hood:

    Palpy office:

Palpy secret compartment where he keep the Death Star hologram in a crate and place the crate there:

Here's the front dual-blaster cannon which is placed on both side of the ship. It is adjustable but not rotatable:

While here's the four dual-blaster cannon on the side of the bridge which is use to attack Vulture Droid and also the Invisible Hand.

Here's the bridge where LEGO have downsize them:

Here's the retractable bar for you to carry the ship around:
The cockpit reveal when you pull the bar out.

The middle part is where the bomb dropping mechanism is placed. On the other side, there will be a bar for you to twist.
This thing is not attached to the ship but rather is placed in the ship only.

Here's the bomb storage box which can store up to five bomb with the mechanism:

How's the mechanism work? Look below:
The bomb fits in between the hole of two tooth, and when you twist the bar it brings the bomb down. However, the bomb sometimes get stuck above. The designer did a great job to hide the red technic pin but not the bar.

And here's the look of the bomb.

While at the back of the ship is the giant blaster cannon, manned by Clone Gunner together with two flick-fire missile:
Is quite sad that we have to move both the upper and lower wing to reveal this cannon.

This is how it looks like under the cockpit:

To rotate the cannon around, make sure the platform touches the brick of the lower wing.

    Blast 'em!

Now to the to rear part of the ship:
Looks at his detailed engine. . . but the gap of the wing beside is big. . .

Now to the escape pod bay:

    Extra parts:
Not much are left. . .

    Completion:

Overall the ship looks good on the outside. But sometimes the functions can't properly work and the back of the part have a gap where you can see inside the ship. Since now got a 30% off, is a good buy.

    Functions:
    -rotatable chair
    -removable cockpit
    -opening escape pod hatch
    -opening front hood
    -adjustable from dual-blaster cannon
-adjustable and rotatable dual-blaster cannons beside the bridge
    -bomb-dropping mechanism
    -flick fire mechanism
-rotatable and slide-able blaster cannon at the back.

    Pros:
    -nice design
    -new minifigs

    Cons:
    -too few blasters
    -stickers

    Final verdict:
Playability: 8/10 This ship is more focus on detail itself.
Design : 9/10 The Venator looks good at certain angle.
Price : 6/10 At least the price has been lowered.
Overall: 7/10 Nice minifig and ship.

Glad you like the new way of reviewing set.  Grin

This is a nice set, but keeping back in the box is a little problem as the handle bar is hard to take off.
