"Built to transport Lego sets throughout the country, the 2010 Lego truck is bigger, faster and more sleek than ever! With a capacity to ship enough Lego to fill an entire toy store, this truck is part of Lego's commitment to ensure that our customers receive their dream sets in the quickest time possible!," quoted from Lego Logistic Division poster somewhere in Legoland.

    Set name: Lego Truck
    Set number: 3221
    Theme: City
    Year Released: 2010
    Number of pieces: 278
    Price: RM 110.00

    Box art

The front of the box shows the bright yellow Lego truck with all the goodies, 1 minifigure unloading the sets and the driver having a tea break.

HEY!! Sorry, had to do that Tongue The rear of the box shows the features of this set as well as the modular building concept it uses.

    Box contents

    The box have 3 numbered bags 1 to 3 and 2 large 6 x 16 grey plates.

It also comes with quite a number of stickers for the mini sets and the large Lego sign.Sorry folks, the Lego decal is not a printed piece  Embarrassed

    Instruction

The front page is similar to that of the box. There is only 1 instruction booklet for this set.

A random page showing the installation of the sticker onto the large yellow container piece.

The last page shows the pieces included inside this set.

    The minifigure

We get 2 minifigure in this set; 1 typical hardworking worker and 1 truck driver. Noticed the worker's eyes are extra large. Both the front of the torso are printed. Only the worker has rear printing.

The 9 blue boxes of Lego may seem oversized compared to the minifigure (the sets aren't even those modular buildings or technic sets!!), but it is of sufficient size to play around with.

    The prime mover

The prime mover is based on those American long haul prime movers with a large engine at the front. The driver seems happy that he got such a awesome machine.

The front has SNOT headlights and engine grille. Sloped pieces provide the aerodynamic engine hood at the front. The curves then follows up to the top of the cab to the rear. Further details include the SNOT steps to the cab and fuel tank on the side.

The rear of the truck has twin exhaust pipes and hole to connect with the trailer section. There are also steps to allow access to the rear of the truck.

As for the cabin, it is the envy of all who travel in Legoland. The cab has a cup holder, a bed to rest after those long journeys and even a flat screen LCD TV!

Access to the cab is by the 2 doors on either side of the truck or the large roof opening. Two wing mirrors on either side assist the driver on the road.

    The container trailer

The container trailer is a very long box container trailer that is used to store/transport Lego sets. It may look small in the initial photos, but boy it is long after it is built!

There are 4 LEGO stickers on this trailer, 2 large stickers on either side and 2 smaller ones on the rear doors.

There is plenty of room to load up the included Lego sets, in fact too much room that you wish TLG included more sets to fill her up completely.

Underneath the trailer is the coupling pin to connect to the fifth wheel/turntable on the prime mover unit. Also underneath the trailer is the landing gear for the container to rest should it is not being connected to a prime mover.

The rear axle of the trailer is 4 wheels on a dolly. This dolly shall later connect to the bottom of the technic plate. This is to provide some sort of suspension to the trailer.

    Completed set

Connecting both the trailer to the prime mover, you can see it is quite a large set! In fact it is bigger than I had anticipated and longer than the Octan tanker which was released earlier this year.

Size comparison next to the 2010 Octan Tanker, 6666 Ambulance and another vintage town set. Six stud wide vehicles are wayy larger than old 4-stud classic Town vehicles.

    Conclusion

Design: 10/10 The prime mover is sleek, roomy and has an amazing SNOT front and side.

Parts: 10/10 Lots of bright yellow pieces in various shapes and sizes, the most useful are the curved slopes and the large 4x4 panels

Playability: 10/10 Load it up with lots and lots of Lego sets, or lots and lots or bricks. Can place in a town setting where it is delivering a shipment to Lego (I dun have Grand Emporium yet, or the mini TRU, but yeah, it would look awesome when placed with those sets)

Price: 10/10 It's not every often we see Lego at such a price and value for such a fantastic set.

Conclusion: 10/10 Grab it. I mean really, GRAB IT!! No joke. The last time a Lego truck appeared with a long tailer for all the barang-barang was quite a long time ago during the 4 stud Classic Town days.

    Extras!

As soon as the truck pulled into Lego City's Lego shop, all participants of the Minifigure Series 1 show exit from the Lego truck in style!

Did you know that the first Lego truck with trailer appeared in 1967?

    It is set number 335.

The next one was released in 1972 with set number 685.

This is followed by 6692 in 1983 and 1525 in 1985.

After that it was 2148 in 1997 and 10156 in 2004.

Well think of it this way, you could use those "Lego" panels to incorporate into your MOCs.

Even if you do not concentrate on the City line, at the price and value you are getting for such a set I think it is worth it. Think of it as those limited edition or rare kind of sets Wink

This truck is worth getting! It's really cheap for Msia pricing. It's an iconic set, and you can built a collection to display LEGO's design progression. Imagine having all the sets paanjang showed us!

I can't wait when all the trucks is 8 studs wide like Toy Story's trucks.

8 studs wide is very big already compared to Lego minifigures. If I'm not wrong the Toy Story minifigures are larger than the normal minifigures, so the 8 stud wide garbage truck looks proportional to the figures.

Also 8 stud wide is too big for normal City baseplates and sets (already 6 stud wide trucks are mammoths when placed in those classic town sets)

What is the width of one-lane road baseplate? How many stud length?
Is 6 stud width the maximum for the vehicle to pass through the lane?
