Here's a video of how Lego is made in their plant in Billurd by How It Works. It is shown on the National Geographic Channel.
SO MANY ROBOTS, SO FEW HUMANS!

Apart from maintenance as bobby has replied, I guess the demand for LEGO product has significantly increased worldwide throughout the years.

I think the reason Lego is expensive is due to what they used to make Lego; oil. Got to wonder what will happen to TLG when there is no more oil

Also TLG wants to make money... Come on, which business in the world does not want money one? If demand a lot, sure price go up.. Maybe we should stop buying for a while and see what happens ?

Lol, TLG is trying to use recycle plastic. People hope they don't screw around with the quality of the bricks though.
